Sobrato Hall East

The Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy, part of the Hispanic Education Foundation, is a charter school in east San Jose that focuses on community leadership for its young students.  The newest wing of the Roberto Cruz Leadership Academy, Sobrato Hall East, utilizes a contemporary approach in the design of  educational facilities.  Expansive glazing throughout bring plenty of light into the building, while secure entries keep students safe.  A large student lounge opens to the gated grounds beyond with a glass garage door, allowing for the space to flow from indoor to outdoor use as needed.   Expansive, open ceiling classrooms, with special acoustics,  are designed with leading-edge classroom furniture and technology to be ultra-flexible in use – each room can be reconfigured in as many ways as the teachers and students like.  A first floor administrative suite supports the teaching staff and allows for an adaptable meeting space.   Additionally, there is a flex room can be used for staff or student purposes, with a variety of furniture allowing different forms of interaction including counseling and team building.
