SENCHA

HEADQUARTERS

Sencha is a software and apps developer in Silicon Valley that wanted to convey a more youthful image in order to attract younger talent.  Looking at a short-term lease, Sencha was on a limited construction budget and needed to make the most of the existing furniture.  The space had high ceilings and great views so, by removing walls, reconfiguring and lowering furniture panels, and improving circulation, sight lines to the exterior glass were increased and a more open, active environment was created.  A number of collaboration zones were created within the open space through use of select new furniture, special architectural finishes, and lively wall graphics.   Original artwork was selected for specific areas; brightly colored pieces were chosen for the open collaborative areas, and more subdued, restful colors and images were chosen for conference and phone rooms.   A large break area, meditation room, and colorful fabric sails helped complete the transformation.
