SOLAR ROW

An older multi-tenant building in San Jose that was in need of a refresh, the DesignLink team was tasked with renovating the public / common areas of building including; lobbies, restrooms, corridors, stairwells, elevator lobbies and mail room. The team also collaborated with the building architect on the exterior in order to increase curb appeal and modernize the building within new windows, finishes and activate new outdoor collaborative spaces. Additionally the building's carbon footprint was minimized through the use of a large solar array and solar-powered "trees" provided by the building owner.

1245 Winchester Boulevard was built in the mid 1970s, and was in dire need of modernization and upgrades to make it both more appealing and energy efficient. DesignLink worked with Edwin Bruce Associate, Architects, to address both exterior and interior renovations to the common areas of the building. new finishes, improved lighting, and new storefront windows helped open he lobby, and showcase the renovated open staircase to the 2nd floor. Brightly colored transitional portals were built out between spaces to improve wayfinding in the corridors and between floors. Secondary communicating stairs were also upgraded and refinished, and the restroom cores renovated with low flow water fixtures, and touchless user interface. A fully functional and secure mail/delivery room for the tenants was also added on the ground floor.
